Sueño Urbano (Urban Dream) is a composition using field recordings from Mexico’s Capital City only. These sounds were transformed, sequenced and controlled in a real-time performance, combined with live poetry and contemporary dance to express the struggle of arriving in the big city, being an indigenous person, and experiencing a whole new world. The combination and manipulation of sounds can help the audience to explore sounds and represent pleasant, intense and wild spaces, just like the city where they were recorded.

Presented during Mexico City’s Indigenous Culture Festival in Mexico City’s Main Square Plaza.
